Moving Words, now in its tenth successful year, is a Yorkshire-based partnership delivering tailor-made arts workshops for Foundation and Key Stages One and Two.
Colin and Julie are both very experienced ex-primary school teachers. Their days feature: performance poetry, drama, dance/movement and story-telling.
What makes ‘Moving Words’ unique and ideal for enriching the primary curriculum?
• Workshops available for any topic at any time of year
• Original performance poetry with catchy choruses and fact-filled verses
• Complementary imaginative movement/dance sequences in a range of styles
‘The workshops were great and aimed just at the objectives we have been covering in our topic!’
Pudsey Greenside Primary
‘Once again you have brought the best out in all of the children. The Senior Staff still can’t stop talking about how good and confident the children were and it’s all down to you!’
Victoria Primary Academy, Leeds
Julie achieved distinctions in Dance and Drama at Northumberland College of Education. She performs in plays and musicals; has been an active member of Yorkshire Movement and Dance for many years and continues to choreograph for a wide range of groups and societies.
Her love of drama and dance has always shone throughout her teaching career with work being created for a variety of venues, one of the most notable being a performance at The Royal Albert Hall as part of the Millennium Celebrations.
Julie’s creative approach to movement appeals to all children, but especially to those who are more inclined to achieve through kinaesthetic learning.
